Private George Harold Mortimer

Killed In Action. 1st July 1916, Aged 25.
George Harold Mortimer, Son of John and Mary Alice Mortimer, of 68 Tong road, Armley, Leeds, joined the “pals” on the 3rd of September 1914, and served with C company in Colsterdale, Egypt and France.
When the “Pals” left the trenches on the 1st of July 1916, George Mortimer was killed after advancing only a few yards towards the enemy.
He is buried in Serre No.1 Cemetery, France.
