Frank Myers Dockray and his brother Brian were the only children of Walter and mary Dockray, living at 8,victoria Terrace, Meanwood, Leeds.
Frank enlisted on the 3rd of September 1914, at the time he was working as a carpet salesman for his father in the family carpet business, He served with the Pals as a Lance Corporal in 5 platoon, B company in Colsterdale Egypt and France. On the 17th of November 1917 he was
Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and posted to 3rd Battalion west Sussex regiment, with whom he served the remainder of the war.
Brian Dockray served as a Private soldier with the York and Lancaster regiment later the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry during the 1st World War.
Both brothers survived the war.
