Lance Corporal Arthur Pannett 15/1428
Born Hunslet Leeds 1896.
Killed in action France 12th of October 1916.
Arthur was on of ten children, two of which died in infancy born to James Albert Pannett and his wife Kate. When he joined the Pals in early 1915 he was employed as a hamper maker at John Nicholson’s Acid works in Hunslet, after basic training at Colsterdale he was posted to the 1st battalion with whom he served until his death in France in October 1916.
Having no known grave he is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial France.
